The Incheon ICN Airport outside of Seoul is the main port of entry for most international flights.  As soon as the plane lands, the first thing everyone does is turn on their phone. If you have set yourself up with an eSim or have an international plan, you’re good to go. However, if you plan to pick up a SIM card at the airport or in the city, you may need to use airport WIFI.

Incheon Airport provides courtesy WiFi service in the passenger terminals and Concourse building. You can use the service with your laptop (with an embedded wireless lan), or smart phone free of charge in all areas within Incheon Airport. To use the Internet service, when the wireless lan signal is detected by your device in the wireless service area, click ‘AirportWiFi.‘

Entry Procedures

When planning a trip to Seoul, we advise that you kindly consult your nearest South Korea Embassy or Consulate for information regarding entry visa requirements and customs procedures specific to your country of origin. Korea uses KRW currency. Currency exchange counters at ICN airport charge a fee, so it’s better to use the ATM machines located in both arrival and departure areas. Confirm with your bank in advance, and inform them about international travel to avoid account issues.

Many purchases have a 10% VAT in Korea, but foreigners can get a tax refund on purchases over 30,000 won by showing their passport at stores displaying a “Tax Free” sign.
