This past weekend, I had the pleasure of exploring ESPACIO CDMX, which is located in the Chapultepec Forest of Mexico City. This charming restoration is a lovely revitalization of The Chapultepec Forest Scenic Railway. It was one of the most beloved recreational and family entertainment projects in the forest. After years of disuse, the old train workshop has been restored to its original playful vocation. It’s now the official temporary location for the World Capital of Design, Mexico City 2018 program. It’s a great place to visit, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves history, Design, and Architecture!
At the time of this post, the current display at Espacio, is “Designing the Future: 15 Years of Design Week Mexico“ , an exhibition that pays tribute to the remarkable journey of the effervescent national design community over the last decade and a half. This exhibition is a celebration of their resilience, creativity, and authenticity, all of which have made Mexico a hotbed of innovation. Mexican designers are constantly pushing the boundaries and finding new solutions while still honoring their cultural heritage.

Sustainability is a key aspect of the featured designs, and they do it by combining tradition with modern methods. With such a rich cultural heritage, they’ve created some truly innovative and visionary designs. And the best part? Their work reflects their keen awareness of the importance of designing for a better and more sustainable world. You can witness this transformation yourself in this awesome exhibition!
The Design Week Mexico exhibition will take place at Espacio CDMX, from May 31 to August 14, 2023. Espacio is always updating their exhibits, so make sure to check their website for the latest installation. Espacio is open daily from 10am-6pm. Av. de Los Compositores 4, Bosque de Chapultepec II Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11100 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico. Visit espaciocdmx.com for additional info.
